D'cha miss me? I'm baaack!

Hey! your favourite mexican is back! My laptop is ok, turns out trouble was caused by some changes a programer did when habilitating it for work in the office's network. Now it is fine, able to log to the net AND to the local office net. Bet I had you all bitting your nails with this exciting paragraph, didn't I?

Well, I'm back, and happy to be able to read all your blogs in the instants that I have free. I'm broke, as usual, overworked, up to my eyes in debt but for these moments, happy. I have my girls, my health (five cases of AH1N1 in my hometown so far), my family and some sweet surprises.

My friend Heather sent me a parcel a few days ago, and it arrived today! It was so nice to receive it, I could almost feel the hugs she sent me! thank you so much for cheering me up.

hehee! see where it came from? aaaall the way from the other side of the world...

and inside, prettily wrapped...

This beautifull magazine, and an even more beautiful photo of my friend Heather and her two girls (even if only one is visible!) and a bookmark! (she knows I read a lot!)

Thank you, Heather! it was just the thing to lift my spirits!

And a parting photo: my two girls. When did they grow up so much? Life is wonderful! Well, most of the time, at least.

Now, if only I could gather US$30,000 before the month ends and be able to pay my debt...

One of the things I've been up to...

Is knitting this scarf. For my brother. My FIRST atempt at instarcia. LOVE the thing! ssh! don't tell him! it is for Xmas!!!!

hehehe! the thing is already over 5 feet long... love the colors, love the lenght, love the way it is comming out...... but my wee hands are TIRED! LOL!

On its way!!!!!

From skein...

To WIP...

To finished scarf...

To pretty little package!

The scarf is finally finished... And tonight, it changes owner. The recepient is my 9 years old niece. She is a very ladylike little girl, and I hope I can pass on to her the knitting/sewing/quilting bug!

Happy Birthday Fanny!

Another two in a day....

Do you detect a trend here?????

I told you that yesterday I received a bunch of books from Amazon, didn't I?

Well, I browsed them and am deligthed with my purchases (kinda reminds me of a post by The Waiter... yup, the same one from Waiter Rant- the blog AND the book).

I have already selected the projects from each book that I want to make for my family this Christmas.

From "Last minute patchwork and quilted gifts" I'll make the birds (only in blues) for my sister in law, four of them in blue and a couple a bit bigger. They lost two babies, and they have two sons, so I'll make the whole family for her to have in her room.

I'm making another set for my other sister in law, with one blue birdie, two pink ones and two big ones.

For the kids: I have already started a Teddy bear for each of the boys, and for the girls I am making a cloth doll.

For the babies: All the critters from Aranzi Aronzo are jumping up and down at me to make them! I still have to select which ones (I wanna make them all!) and switch the colors to bright ones, like the lizard in a very bright... pink!

I am also treating myself with Jennifer Chiaverini's novels. hehehehe! And making a pencil roll for myself. And finishing the scarves... and making matching scarves for bears and dolls...

i think I better leave the computer and get working! See ya!
